The online version has been updated with the save/load fix – you will need to make a new save first, of course~
(Sorry I wasn’t clearer ^^; I meant I had fixed it, but had not uploaded it before. I have *not* updated the download version yet, as I’m currently hunting a rather elusive bug where an icon becomes stuck…)
Good luck finding the save file ^^ It’s up to your browser where it wants to store it. It’s the web 2.0 version of cookies – I’ll try to document browser save locations later.
Sound will be added real soon~
Game freeze on hiring a character – added to bug list
June 1, 2013 at 3:23 pm #1839Haha, I should’ve KNOWN it wasn’t flash, flash gives you a right-click menu, while javascript can be set to disable it! Thanks for the save/load fix! 😀
Do you plan on putting in an “Endless Mode”? Where you don’t have a limit on days? I would love to just keep on playing, and playing, and playing, and leveling up characters. X3
June 1, 2013 at 3:38 pm #1840Endless Mode – yes. Will make sure it’s on the list…
Leveling up should be much more interesting after skills are turned back on (not all were finished, felt unfair to some characters.)
June 1, 2013 at 3:42 pm #1841Right, I notice a lot of things that are…well I’d call them “placeholders” for upcoming features. Very exciting! I get so close to maxing out a character’s skills, then the game is over, it gets a bit disappointing at times. XP
June 1, 2013 at 3:46 pm #1842I’m not sure how easy it would be to implement an endless mode in the near future (like a day or a few days). My simplistic idea of javascript says that one would just remove the days limit from a casual mode setup. Then again I don’t know javascript all too well, so it might not be that simple. I trust you’d know more about it anyway.
June 1, 2013 at 8:13 pm #1843Portrait getting stuck – while I have been unable to reproduce the error, given the descriptions and screenshots… I figure it has something to do with the movement code overshooting its destination, and it continuously correcting itself, thus a ‘vibrating’ effect until the numbers become so small it appears to stop moving, rendering it stuck.
Given the movement code was one of the first bits of prototyping, decided to rewrite it. Update forthcoming…

In theory Endless Mode shouldn’t be too hard. It’s mostly a matter of design, as we can’t get into story-mode proper until we get the math and balancing down, and the scale is a bit out of whack, so in an endless play, the numbers could get quite crazy in the ‘house always messy, everyone is hurt’ way.
I think, after working in the rest of the upgrades and a bit of balancing, we’ll add endless mode v1. v2 and onwward, would like custom options, like choosing any character to start, toggling goals/difficulty.
Just writing this, I imagine one menu for casual play, where you toggle what you want, would make more sense… hm hm.
June 1, 2013 at 11:17 pm #1851Yeah, that’s exactly what it looked like. Portrait was moving left to right so fast that it was just really blurry; tried to get a screenshot, but couldn’t capture the effect.
June 1, 2013 at 11:32 pm #1861I was able to spoof the behavior when rewriting the movement code, and showed it to Whry… was kind of funny. He had the ‘bug as feature’ idea where you equip a vibrator or something, and it then makes the icon shake like that XD i dunno…
At any rate, the fix has been uploaded. Sorry about all these bugs, guys ^^;
June 2, 2013 at 1:41 am #1862Still having an issue involving the refreshing of the game page. The background is gone when I load a save after refreshing the page: http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/hey_its_smoxy/media/hot_debug/03_zpsf44cee8e.png.html
From this state, I can no longer go to town (or if I can, I can’t tell because I don’t see anything). I can recall the character from where they are at this point. When I click Start, the background will reappear with a shake, graphics go as normal, then disappear with a shake, taking the character icon with them. I can’t recall the character after that point. I can continue progressing time and they’re still counted as being where they were, since they are still there..during the action graphics, at least. I don’t think it’d be worth the effort to try to make a video of the incident, so here is a pic with ovals around the areas that do not shake: http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/hey_its_smoxy/media/hot_debug/04_zps320646a8.png.html It also shows the graphics during their visible moments. Also, the Goal and Item screens have shaking in the same space and seem to operate normally otherwise. The item screen recognizes that I have a character in employ.June 2, 2013 at 11:39 am #1863http://s1149.photobucket.com/user/baileyotts/media/moneyglitch.png.html?sort=3&o=0
Have a glitch where when you buy a contract and immediately sell it, you get around $100,000 instead of the actual sale price.

June 2, 2013 at 7:51 pm #1865I tested the money glitch for myself, found that selling any contract, regardless of who or when you bought it, gives you $1,000,000.
I can’t really complain too much about this glitch, though. Since I welcome the extra boost. :3
June 3, 2013 at 9:10 am #1870Haha, am tempted to say you found the secret debug cheat, but can’t lie. Thanks for pointing that out.
@evilmathmagician
Will test that real quick… interesting. My initial thoughts are, if the load works before refreshing, then some variable that a new game sets isn’t being saved or loaded. But testing that, doesn’t seem to be the case.This may take a while. Kind of defeats the purpose of saving if it isn’t fixed. Many thanks for finding it.
June 3, 2013 at 11:31 am #1874‘Missed the initial release but I made up for it with a few hours of play. ;P
If I may be so bold, I would like to ask about two things. Firstly, when dragging a character icon from one place to another the other icon it replaces goes back to the standby scroll rather than switching places with the icon replacing it. It felt odd to me and I just wanted to know if there was a reason for this.
Secondly, not having a function for the right mouse button seems like a bit of a waste. It could do something like send the highlighted character back to the scroll individually rather than only having the drag and drop. This might not be so relevant for those using a touchscreen but . . . it would make sorting out people I may’ve worked half to death a lot easier later in the game when there’s a billion and a half rooms. >w>;
