Well, first off, Hello Fupoco staff and fans! Glad to be on the site finally, good job fixing that registration error Kaive! *High-paw*
Eh, don’t really know what else to say; I loved the demo and plan on buying the full-game in the future. Oh I suppose I should explain the username but I am pretty sure you smart fellows can figure it out for yourselves. >////<
May 7, 2012 at 8:49 am #761Hi!
Good to see it’s fixed, was embarrassing ;_;
How bad a case are we talking about? Makes for a great plot-device XD
May 14, 2012 at 1:23 am #768Well, let’s say I am more with the ‘intimate’ side of the fandom, though I love Anthro’s and art associated with them; my Green Asiatic Lion having been made by a friend is proof enough.
Though, I have never mentioned this to anyone, I mean unless you know they know, it’s kind of hard to bring up and does it even NEED to be brought up is another question I would like to ask. An that’s not the only one either…I am a bi-curious (Pretty sure Bi-sexual but never had the opportunity), though I know my family and current friends would never approve/accept me as they openly mock people this way or just don’t accept it when the subject it brought up.
So, all in all more like AJ in the Game really; a guy you wouldn’t figure to be that way and not so sure if he wants people to know.May 16, 2012 at 11:43 pm #769Hm. I really tried to play down the whole closet-angle to the plot and focus on the relationships, but now you have me rethinking it. I love those kind of stories, partly because we all go through it in some way or another. Who cares if it seems overdone!
At any rate, it does make life extra exciting^^
May 21, 2012 at 10:50 pm #779In my opinion, from a writing standpoint, things are only overdone if you do them the way other people have done them. If you do it your own way, with sincerity and honesty in the way it is presented, even something done a hundred times will still seem new and naturally if they can relate it makes it all the better.
BTW, how long does it take for payment to go through? I recently got my hands on some extra money and was considering getting the game. 😀
May 21, 2012 at 11:17 pm #780See, and I though AJ was just supposed to be AJ, not really a closet case, but more of he never really thought things out to their logical conclusion. Of course, this was also back around rewrite number 2 maybe? What I liked about him was his whole- “so, if I like a guy who likes guys, and we both like each other- does that make us gay? Ok I’m cool with that.” attitude. I think that still came through, even if writing for a game is so much different than writing stories. Especially when you have to think about having multiple characters and how they all interact. I think I almost killed Kaive the first couple of times we hashed through the storylines trying to get the characters right while still letting the game actually have gameplay and not just be a click and read adventure. :p
May 24, 2012 at 12:41 am #783@whry: I didn’t mean to say that he was as bad as I am, per se but I was just saying that I related to him on not being able to come out on his own kind of deal.
At least, I hope you get what I mean. lol
May 25, 2012 at 8:46 am #784Payment is via credit/debit, so it only takes a few seconds~
And I agree, have read some amazing coming-out kind of stories and always dislike seeing the author or someone refer to it as generic or such. Devil’s in the details.
May 25, 2012 at 12:23 pm #787@closetcase: Not a prob- It’s actually really neat that people are seeing so many facets of the same character. I think it says that they were developed just the right amount for a game. I know it was something that I had a big problem with when Kaive and I talked through the story, since I was much more used to writing from a literary standpoint, not for games. I know I wanted to spend more time developing the characters, giving their back-story and stuff of the like, but in a game a great deal of that can be handled without dialogue, and in a game like common grounds. Well, too much character development can make the game less playable, since then you don’t feel like there is actually anything in the game for you to do, you’re really just clicking a mouse to turn pages.
The fact that you feel like you can relate to AJ in a personal way, even when this was really not even something we thought about in his development, tells me that his characterization is spot-on. There was enough there for folks to emphasize with him, but not so much detail that it makes him too defined for someone to project themselves into.
TL:DR I think it’s awesome that you like AJ, especially for traits that we would have never considered in him, and for letting us know what you see in these guys.
June 4, 2012 at 10:55 am #793AJ was the first person I started developing a relationship with, mainly because he felt the most casual of the group. He wasn’t there for the sex, he was just being a friend and I wanted to find out more about him. I liked that the reward for doing so wasn’t just “yeah, new tier reached, have sex”, it felt like I had to actually get to know him well enough first and work through his issues as well as my own.
Okay, so the fact that he’s adorable helps. The art style didn’t click with me for a while, but AJ was cute from the start. <3
