HoT – Second Picture
July 27, 2012 in Games, House of Tail
Follow up to the previous post: here we see the as yet unnamed cat character having sex.
The first four characters have been drawn, can’t wait to show you. But the next task is to write an official request for characters. Sorry for the wait, we’re almost there!
To clear some things up based on what people are asking us:
- This game isn’t exactly another dating sim. It’s more about managing characters.
- There will be women in this one.
- We’d like to release it as soon as it’s playable, but not when it’s finished. This way, you don’t have to wait too long, and you can have a say in the updates!
I like this new direction of the game, the whole we’ll be getting updates and a little bit in a save in the direction development goes.
But as Sparky said, lets make sure we have some testing first to make sure it isn’t too bugged filled. While most of us would understand its only a playable beta, the rest of the interwebs would likely judge the first public release.
Still looking forward to hearing more about this game and of course sexy kitty is cute and sexy as he gets nicely stuffed.
That’s something I’ve noticed when other developers release a demo, it kind of establishes the critics’ tone, ie every update will be compared to the first. Like a bad first impression. But sometimes I’ve seen it work.
I’ll try and run it through a quick beta phase before the release. But the overall idea is to get it into a basic state where we can add a little content here and there so the game only gets bigger and better.
This is where I hope you’ll have Beta testers. I see what you mean when you want to release before you finish, but at the same time- I recommend you have at least a few testers on the side. You just dont know how buggy it could be, and multiple crashes or just freeze-ups would not be good.
The more computers that test it, the better. For instance, I have a quad-core laptop that I can disable cores specifically for testing, and see how well the game would handle on lower end PC’s :3
We’ll call the initial release a beta then ^^
I’m sure there will be oddities, mostly browser-based. I’ve noticed (no surprise here) that the game runs slower in a browser than on its own. And because of this, I’ll probably have to add in extra checks to make sure things don’t get stuck.
I’d be more worried, but half the fun and reason for this is to try something different 🙂
