    I honestly think many of the people who play these games, and come to this site should really advertise it to more furs that reside on InkBunny, Furaffinity, SoFurry, stuff like that.

    Sure, Common Grounds wasn’t anything ‘cutting edge’, or anything completely new. If anything, it was a true interactive (Visual) novel- and a bit more. You can see the thought put into the game, from the smaller choices you make, and Kaive’s attention to detail to ACKNOWLEDGE the smaller things, let alone the bigger ideas.

    The music was perfect in just about every aspect. The way your emotion is captured is also… <3 Its what sells a good story. With the game being just under $20, well… you just can't beat it. The more popular Kaive is, I believe the more successful he is. The more motivated he would be, and it would also make his live easier as well.

    Many programmers usually just.. stop due to their hard work not being recognized. Does anyone really want that to happen to someone like him? I guess another thing to mention is that this is the first furry game i’ve seen in a while. By game, I mean something fun you pay for that has a bit of play/replay-ability.

    This is why I am devoting much of my time to help him and to collaborate. This is why I advertise the game and this site.
    I don’t think anything will happen to him, but personally I DONT want him to fade while he’s starting to shine. I’ve seen that happen to so many.

    Anyways.. this is my rambling, I hope I am not the only person who feels the same about these things :c

    Where to begin with this?

    You start by saying everyone should advertise, then go on to take a jab at the game, pretending to cover yourself up. Did you even play it enough to know how it ticks?

    A musician saying that Common Grounds music was perfect shows either how much you’re sucking up or how ignorant you are. I would agree that for most of the game the music suits the game however calling it perfect is detrimental. If you just don’t know better, I guess that’s okay. Since you call yourself a musician, it is unacceptable.

    True. Many programmers move on to other ventures because of a lack of recognition. Rather, the pay out isn’t enough for their effort. Kaive has been building a following. He seems to know that these things don’t happen over night. Honestly, how can he have all of the acknowledgement that he deserves when he only has one game? What good will popularity do at this stage? People will only get bored and be gone by the time he has something to show.

    Furries are fickle. If you want to compare Fupoco to other furry adult entertainment, Sexy Fur and Hard Blush weren’t instantly popular, either. They had a good start and then slowly built up their credit and reputation. As Fupoco must do.

    Quit acting like you’re important. You aren’t. It is one thing to help -if you are- but some people spread the word without having to pat themselves on the back.

    My final statement before resuming lurk mode until someone says something so horribly stupid I have to stop lurking: Fupoco will be leading the Furry Porn Game Industry and be a furry household name on par or exceeding the above mentioned Hard Blush/ Sexy Fur in 5 years or less.

    Awww, so you came out of lurking to argue with me? I dunno, kind of hard not to feel important now <3

    I stand by what I said. You're only making yourself look like a fool, because I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. So, either go back to lurking, or come out to support. Your choice.

    @Allen Ban
    I came close to making a post similar to yours. I decided I would have been too harsh and kept to myself. You’re a lot more polite than I would’ve been.
    I don’t think I can agree with everything you said, but it doesn’t really matter because I’ll continue keeping to myself on this one.

    @Sparky
    Anybody on these forums is likely already a fan. The reasons we like the game don’t even really matter. It’s normal to tell others about cool stuff you find. I think the whole word-of-mouth thing works without there being a person trying to rally the troops. If you must do this, wouldn’t it make more sense to do it somewhere else?
    I don’t think Allen Ban is trying to argue with you. Your behavior is making -me- want to start an argument, if that helps.
    A person who does not agree with what others are saying should not be expected to keep quiet. This happens too much and it is a much worse thing than you seem to realize.

    Wouldn’t it make more sense to ‘rally the troops’ directly from the source? and get THEM to have the same mindset to help get Fupoco a bit more known? Sure. Like Allen said- there is only one game out. That doesn’t mean we can’t do that.

    And sure, of COURSE everyone on the forum is a fan. No one would of joined the forum if they weren’t.

    Word of mouth doesn’t always work. I KNOW, I’ve seen it fail countless of times from many other forums, developer sites, ‘blogspots’, etc etc. To be honest, I am usually the one who lurks on the forums to see the progress. You know what? I find that to be a bit lazy and unhelpful. And if it takes someone to get all the lurkers out of hiding, I am not afraid to be that someone.

    And if I am able to do that- regardless of what you say, I feel that I must be doing something right. That’s called having an impact.

    Its not so bad, though. And it does NOT happen too much, in fact it needs to happen more OFTEN. The exception are the trolls. When someone makes a valid point, and someone doesn’t agree with them, its not always bad to have an argument.

    Arguments don’t always have to be due to out of rage and anger. (To be quite honest, I’m enjoying the debate).

    Man, this is besides the point. My point is, it doesn’t hurt to get Fupoco and Kaive a bit more known. Allen, I am a bit of a programmer too, so I know its way too easy to get discouraged. I just don’t want that to happen. Am I really in the wrong for wanting that?

    I am forever grateful for the support. It does make things easier, but I wouldn’t want any of you to feel like you have to give it. It can be our little secret~

    I’ve noticed game makers pop up and disappear too. Some of them finish a game, some of them just a website. I don’t know if it’s because of the lack of attention. Can be any number of things.

    There was a semi-recent example called… Squishy Frogs or something. They planned to make a dating sim, asked for some money, and their site seems to have disappeared. I remember worrying that they were putting more attention on their twitter account than working on their game. It’s a mistake to focus on popularity like that.

    Other than that, I really really don’t want to make this about me. I think once we get more games and content, everything will work out. So long as the games are good and the rest is amusing. Everything will be okay.

    Besides, I’d continue to do this stuff if nobody else cared XD

    Very awesome that people do.

    and if you want to continue with fan support you can do what Tim Shaefer did. Go to kick starter! I’m gonna buy the game after work today (finally) and if i can help make another game simply by donating I’d be happy to XD

    Thanks!

    Am curious about KickStarter’s policy on explicit material. Would be very surprised if it’s ok XD

    Well guess what. That replacement hard drive I had for my laptop? Which was my BACKUP… died. my knee bumped into the auxiliary latch on the bottom to where it completely opened the case up… and the hard drive kinda just fell out hanging from the cord. so now its.. dead.

    my backup is ruined. UGH.

    Im putting all my projects on haitus at the moment, to save me from pressure and frustration. This isn’t a hiatus thats going to be ongoing, its just.. going to be effective until I have STABLE GROUND. (meaning, money and a better hard drive/laptop period).

    Good news though, I literally just got faster internet a few hours ago (from 128kb/s to 768kb/s)

    Sorry Kaive. I need to redownload from my skydrive in order to send the music to dropbox

    #1356

    Wish i was on the UK or the US to use kickstarter lol, would be great to have donations flowing in so i can keep working on my game hehe

    #1359

    @Sparky

    It’s ok. I hope things get better and not super frustrating!

    @Brodie

    Can’t wait to see your game!!

    Kickstarter is kind of a double-edged sword:

    *** You have to announce a release date for when people will receive the game, and deliver or forfeit funds, (which to small developer teams is extremely tricky to place and is always overly ambitious, unless you already have the game pretty much made.)

    *** They do better when you already have some dough and notoriety. Tim Shaefer of Double Fine is one of the big Kickstarter success stories, but his studio already had a big following and commercial work under their belt, not to mention he’s been loved in adventure gaming for decades.

    *** If you don’t reach the goal, you don’t get the dough, and the funding-drive only lasts like a month (I think.)

    That said, still cool if you can get it to work for you.

    #1361

    Yeah true, but apparently a space 3D game reached its goal of like 30mill in a few days, since it is a great genre to be in, that was to be expected. So it depends on the advertisements the genre and other factors that makes it worth while.
