Has anyone had any luck running Common Grounds using WINE? or the Mono runtime?

Ubuntu!! Such a fun word to say.

I have a box set up, but have never thought to test it. A couple of people have told me they were able to run it in ‘wine’.

Will see for myself and report my findings.

    OK!

    – Installed Wine 1.4

    – Right-clicked CommonGroundsSetup.exe, selected ‘load with wine’ (something like that), if you don’t, it will think the exe is an archive and not do anything

    – Do not select ‘run Common Grounds when finished’, as it will fail to load files.

    – Find the application called something like ‘browse folders in wine’, the icon looks like a folder with a wine glass on the lower right-hand side

    – locate Common Grounds’ exe (program-files -> fupoco -> etc) and *RIGHT-CLICK* again to ‘open with wine’.

    – It runs, but very slowly. I was using a Pentium 4 3GHz with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Maybe the memory was under-par, as it was skipping the ‘now loading’ screens, struggling.

    Hope that helps 🙂
