Post Anthrocon 2012

We had a blast at AC, (a huge furry convention.) I made sure to take lots of pictures, mostly of the sights not usually seen online, but that you’ll see again and again while you’re there. I’m thinking of writing a silly article about it, mostly for those who want an idea of what it’s like.

Best part was understanding that Fupoco doesn’t really need a convention presence, that we don’t have to rely on it like a lot of artists seem to. Was a huge relief! Will explain later…

Between Whry and I, we volunteered for over 30 hours! Crazy way to spend time for my first AC, but it was fun to see how it goes behind the scenes. That and odds are one of us touched your registration bag or handled your stuff at the Art Show’s drop off table XD

I also participated in some card game tournaments, in what my friends like to call “Furry: The Dickening” — also known as Furoticon. While I didn’t win any, I did win some matches and came close enough in the rest to feel okay in starting to write some articles about it.

One of the guests of honor at AC was Dev Madan, the Art Director for Sly Cooper and Creative Director for PopCap Games, and an all-around great guy. One of the biggest takeaways I had from him was using the iterative process to ‘find the fun’ early in development. While it sounds simple, it’s quite difficult as it requires a lot of recoding and reworking.

Work continues on the web game without a name. Let’s see how well this iterative process works!
